Challenge Activity 3:
The Woes of Your and You’re
I must admit, I was really struggling in the beginning. Technology is kind of hard. I felt like one of those older ladies who is completely set in their way and anything new is absolutely out of the question, but I adjusted. Animoto is an excellent tool for teacher to incorporate into their classrooms. I had fun playing around after I got used to how the site worked.
The video that I created was created with middle schoolers in mind, particularly 7th or 8th graders. With today’s text slang, we see more and more students (and shockingly, ADULTS) who cannot differentiate between the possessive your and the contraction you’re.
The standards I had in mind for this particular video are from the 8th grade curriculum.
8.8 The student will edit writing for correct grammar, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, and paragraphing
g) Use correct spelling for frequently used words.
With this being said, here we go!
