Personal Learning Network

The number of educators on Twitter is actually astonishing. As soon as I began to tweet about education and technology I gained followers from the education field. Teachers are really looking for ways to improve themselves and their teaching styles. Twitter is a great place for teachers from all disciplines to come together and collaborate.

First and foremost, let me get this out in the open, I am a Pinterest freak. There, I’ve said it. I love Pinterest. Luckily for me, I didn’t have to go set up a Pinterest for my PLN because I already have one, plus I’ve already been pinning things related to education and the classroom environment for a solid year now! I’ve used Pinterest to even find inspiration for a practicum lesson.

My board, Teaching is an Art, has a variety of pins on it ranging from classroom decor to engaging lessons. Some of the pins will take me to blogs where I can look at other teachers’ work to see what they’re doing in their classrooms.

Over the course of the semester, I’ve pinned a variety of things that I believe will help me become a more effective teacher. I love to pin fun activities or different reading lists that I find because some day they will be very important to me and my classroom.
